In the third quarter of 2020, over 1.6 million people were working in the informal sector in Tunisia. The number of employees within the formal sector exceeded that of the informal employment by only approximately 252 thousand in the same period. Compared to the third quarter of 2019, the number of people employed informally augmented, while formal employment figures declined.
